Me encanta Pinterest para mi, realmente me encanta…como gusto personal es adictivo y lo disfruto a cabalidad. (Mi pinterest personal:http://pinterest.com/Rossanaisabel)
Sin embargo, para mi población académica todavía no encuentro mucho uso excepto par de chistes dirigidos a las diversas profesiones y quizás elaborar un área de nuevas adquisiciones de recursos. Mi Pinterest para UPR-RCM en proceso: (http://pinterest.com/integraciontec)
Esta realidad no es la misma para las bibliotecas públicas, escolares y de jóvenes adultos que sí están logrando buenos resultados. Ese público es muy visual y de atención corta por lo que un gráfico hace más que mil palabras.
David Lee King coloca varias sugerencias en su entrada Pinterest for libraries – what we’re doing. Comparto aquí para los interesados en Pinterest algunas metas y objetivos que menciona con un equipo de trabajo.
- Objetivo: centrarse en la biblioteca y en todo lo "local", en las cosas que nuestros clientes puedan estar interesados.Objetivo: centrarse en las cosas que hacen a la gente "haga clic"
- Meta para cada pizarras o tableros – por lo menos 9 pines a la semana por persona.
- Para el personal – use su "sombrero de biblioteca" – pensar como "la biblioteca" en lugar de un individuo cuando “pineando” algo.
- Hemos creado 16 pizarras o tableros para empezar, cada uno con un miembro del personal que por lo menos estará a cargo de cada uno de ellas (la mayor parte de las juntas con un equipo de 2-3 personas).
- Escribe un resumen, "tweetable" propaganda de cada pin que usted cree.
- Consejos útiles: He utilizado un grupo de correo electrónico (que utiliza Microsoft Exchange / Outlook para el correo electrónico) al configurar la cuenta, y se les asignará todos los que participan en el proyecto piloto para el grupo de correo electrónico. De esta manera, todo el mundo ve “me gusta” , los “pins”, sigue, comentarios, etc que ocurren en Pinterest.
- Al crear una nueva junta directiva, que se llenan de cosas 9 hacemos que de esta manera no se vea "vacío" el Pinterest
- Colocar los libros del catálogo es muy buena idea pero es también un proceso de múltiples pasos. En primer lugar, usted necesita encontrar una foto de la portada y el pin que puede añadir es el URL directo al registro del catálogo del libro.

***** Running a journal club in Second Life
Sheila Yoshikawa & Pancha EnzymeThis exhibit aims to provide insight into the practicalities and motivations concerned with running a journal club (JC) in Second Life (SL) on Infolit iSchool island. The JC has a focus on research in Information Literacy and Information Behaviour.
Since September 2010 we have held regular (usually monthly) meetings. A JC typically involves a discussion leader proposing a published research paper which is subsequently critiqued at the JC meeting. JCs are particularly valued in the health sector (see Deenadayalan et al., 2008) and also used in other disciplines and professions (e.g. Young and Vilelle, 2011).
Traditional journal club meetings take place face to face, but virtual journal clubs have also formed, including ones using Twitter. The authors, who run the SL JC, plan to investigate the motivations of club participants through a case study, drawing on chatlogs, snapshots, field notes, focus groups, interviews and a questionnaire. So far initial documentation has been gathered and a pilot focus group carried out.
The VWBPE exhibit includes: posters depicting the process of the Infolit iSchool journal club (how papers are chosen, session management etc.); a presenter containing a series of web-linked panels to the previous JC papers; pictures and machinima of the JC room; and a poster on the process and outcome of the pilot interview.
